Mely is a mental health advocate with a gender health care specialization. They were born and raised in San Diego, CA to Mexican immigrant parents and are a UCSD alum, Class of 2015. They are one of the co-founders of the STRIDE Program (EST 2023) and are passionate about centering pleasure, joy, and euphoria as key factors in gender health wellness. Mely can provide services in English and/ or Spanish.

I provide medical support to help each individual live as their true self. I like to find out where you are in your journey, what have been the barriers and successes and help you proceed to the next steps. I strive to work within the realities of each unique situation and see every person as an individual so I can tailor your care to fit your needs. I practice trauma informed care with the goal of creating a safe space for gender diversity and neurodiversity.

Tay provides gender-affirming, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care for transgender, intersex, and nonbinary students and young adults. Their work is grounded in a holistic approach that honors every part of who you are—including your identities, lived experiences, relationships, and the ways you move through the world. Tay is committed to creating a space that is neurodiversity-affirming and rooted in care, curiosity, and compassion. Their goal is to support you in living more authentically, reconnecting with your sense of self, deepening your healing, and moving toward a more liberated way of living.

                        Michael McGlenn, Psy.D.

Michael McGlenn, PsyD received his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. Michael supports the STRIDE team as an evaluator for gender-affirming surgery letter-writing. These letter-writing sessions are some of Michael’s favorite clinical experiences, as he values the opportunity to explore students’ dreams for the future following gender affirming care, and to assist them with making sure they have the necessary resources to receive the safest possible medical procedure. As a cis-gender male ally of the gender diverse community, Michael takes seriously his role as a humble, curious, and collaborative partner with his clients to help empower and support them to make informed choices that are right for them.

May earned her B.S. in Clinical Nutrition from UC Davis and her M.S. in Nutrition for Wellness from Bastyr University, San Diego. She began her career working with adolescents in the eating disorder treatment space and joined UC San Diego Student Health in 2020. May is passionate about providing weight-inclusive, gender-affirming nutrition care that centers each student’s unique goals, identity, and lived experience. Her approach focuses on creating a safe, inclusive space while supporting nourishment, body autonomy, and overall well-being through services such as hormone-related nutrition support, post-surgical healing guidance, and compassionate care for body image and disordered eating concerns. She integrates intuitive eating and a holistic perspective to help students build supportive relationships with food and their bodies.

                        Jenna Richter, MPPD, RD, CEDS

Jenna received her B.S. in Nutrition Science from CSUN, then completed her Master's in Dietetics from ISU. Jenna spent the first few years of her career in the inpatient, and long-term care settings in San Diego. Since 2020, and up until joining the UCSD Student Health team in 2025, Jenna worked with both adults and adolescents struggling with eating disorders. Jenna believes in progress over perfection, and that food is not just fuel- it can be a source of joy, and connection to others that supports both mental and physical well-being. Jenna supports STRIDE because she cares deeply about creating inclusive spaces where all students feel respected, valued, and seen. In her work with eating disorders, she has observed firsthand how essential gender-affirming care is for overall health and recovery, and she values how STRIDE continues to meet gender-affirming care needs for students on campus.
